Since 1929, the mission of Erie Day School has been to discover the gifts in every child. During this great discovery, students experience a traditional liberal arts curriculum, taught in a developmentally appropriate sequence. Teachers focus on the individual and provide strong academics, continuity and integration of curriculum, broad enrichment programs and a dedicated partnership between home and school.
At Erie Day School, we treasure childhood. Guided by our recognition that each child has unique capabilities and learning styles, we provide a wide variety of experiences to enable children to develop their innate talents. Academic expectations are high, and with the guidance of a superior, inspiring and nurturing faculty, students acquire and develop the necessary skills to prepare them for life.
We also strive to develop inherent values in each student, encouraging learning in an atmosphere of respect through courtesy, cooperation, honesty, good citizenship, and appreciation of diversity. With these values guiding our school, we believe that our students will contribute to the well being and stability of our community and our society.
Our purpose as a school is clear. We want children to excel in their educational, social, and personal endeavors and become global citizens - who can think independently, creatively and critically. Thank you for considering Erie Day School. As you explore our website, I hope it gives you a sense of the spirit of our school. I invite you to visit and take a tour. I look forward to meeting you! Sincerely Michael S. Mullin Head of School |
