Erie Day School Math Counts Team Wins Second and Third Place in Regional Competition!
Congratulations to our Math Counts state competitors, eighth-grade students Genelia Kang and Gridley Wright, and their coach, Mr. Silakowski!
The Math Counts Team competed in the regional competition on February 17th. The competition was made up of 86 students from 14 schools throughout the Erie region. The Erie Day School Team was comprised of the main competition team including, eighth-grade students Genelia Kang, Sophia Taylor, Gridley Wright, and seventh-grade student Silvia Kang. The rest of the team included eighth-grade students Markella Nacopoulos, Asheen Udgiri, seventh-grade students Cameron Aresco, Tommy Christiansen, Theofania Nacopoulos, Zachary Rosenthal, and sixth—grade student Bradley Ng. Of the eleven students who competed, seven placed in the top 31 students. From the regional competition, the top four would go on to states to compete against 72 other students. Genelia Kang and Gridley Wright placed in second and third place respectively!
Genelia, Gridley, and Mr. Silakowski attended the state competition in Harrisburg on March 19th and did a great job representing Erie Day School! Congratulations again to the whole Math Counts Team
