Visual and performing arts education at Erie Day School will be highlighted on May 18th at this year’s annual Visual & Performing Arts Walk & Music Festival. Years of research show that art is closely linked to academic achievement, social and emotional development, civic engagement, and equitable opportunity. Involvement in the arts is associated with gains in math, reading, cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skills. The arts can also improve motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork. Come and see the benefits of a rich and vibrant arts program while viewing student arts works that includes: oil and watercolor painting, sculpture, abstract, pencil and other mediums – all taken in while you participate in a scavenger hunt. Musical performances by students are scheduled throughout the evening as well. Refreshments will be provided as you tour through the inspiring and artistic hallways and classrooms of EDS.
