Erie Day School Welcomes Mr. Donald Fuller as it's next Head of School.

Erie Day School is pleased to announce the appointment of Donald Fuller as the school’s next Head of School, beginning July 1, 2025. Mr. Fuller had been in a transition period working closely with current Head of School Dr. Karen Tyler, who will conclude her distinguished tenure at the end of the 2024–25 academic year.
This announcement follows a national search led by the Erie Day School Board of Trustees and a dedicated search committee. Community members—including faculty, parents, alumni, and students—played a vital role in the selection process through forums and feedback sessions.

Mr. Fuller brings a wealth of educational leadership experience to Erie Day School. Most recently, he served as Director of Educational Leadership for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie, overseeing academic programming and professional development across 27 schools. He has also served as a principal and curriculum director, with a proven track record of advancing student achievement, enhancing school culture, and championing student-centered learning.

During his time as a principal in the Erie Catholic School System, Mr. Fuller led curriculum redesign efforts that improved standardized test scores and created a school environment known for strong relationships and student success. His approach is rooted in collaboration, innovation, and inclusion—core values that closely align with the mission of Erie Day School.

Founded in 1929, Erie Day School is an independent, non-sectarian school serving students from Toddler through Grade 8. The school is known for its rigorous academics, nurturing environment, and emphasis on character development. EDS fosters a diverse and inclusive community, preparing students to lead with wisdom, kindness, and respect. Mr. Fuller’s appointment signals an exciting new chapter for Erie Day School as it continues to innovate while remaining true to its core mission. The school looks forward to building upon its nearly century-long tradition of academic excellence and community impact.
